Sam Binga, Chimpo, Trigga and Killa P reinvent Jon E Cash's classic 'Hoods Up'

Jon E Cash's 2005 instrumental "Cash Beat (Hoods Up Dub)" has gained a somewhat legendary status over the years. It's fitting, then, that Sam Binga and Chimpo's new drum and bass remix of the song features fresh vocals from two equally legendary MCs: Manchester's Trigga and South London's Killa P.

The music video for the song was filmed at Brixton's Container Records and directed by Panasonic Productions' Rob Smith. Its deliberately grainy visuals and fictional 'Hoods Up TV' logo hark back to a golden age for music videos, and add to the rugged feel of the track.

This remix comes five days after the release of Jon E Cash's own version, "Put Your Hoods Up", which enlists in R&B singer Mr. Jones for a silky new reimagination of the track.
