Cadell’s new track “Roman” combines an ice-cold Teeza beat, using classic grimy sounds, with effortlessly hard-hitting bars. The song title shares the name of East London street Roman Road, a place synonymous with grime (Rhythm Division, Wiley, etc.).
Cadell has spent much of his career batting away comparisons with his older brother in an attempt to forge his own path, something he’s done fantastically so far. This track, however, is surely one Wiley is dearly proud of, as Cadell skips over an early 2000s style beat and details life in East London.
The song also hints at future work from the Bow-based artist; “I’m gonna have mad year, and then I’m gonna have a mad album”. Judging by this, his recent LONDON album, and other previous projects, grime fans should be anticipating another great year for one of the genre's best young spitters.
