Nottingham parvenu Snowy returns with 'Back from the Dead'

Self-described "Nottingham grime resurrector" Snowy has returned with a ghoulish new single entitled "Back from the Dead". The self-released song sees the 21-year-old MC take on a snarling instrumental from rising Bristol producer Drone, which marries eerie vocal samples with a sepulchral bassline.

The bars are full of witty wordplay ("I got a Nottingham flow just like the river Trent / But more time it’s coming through like a whirlpool") and pop culture references ("Back from the dead like Ra's al Ghul"). The pitch of Snowy's voice plummets on the monstrous final verse, which heightens the horror-themed mood of the track. As per tradition, the man himself has added the official lyrics to Genius.

Both Snowy and Drone have EPs slated for release in the near future. If you like what you hear below, keep an eye out for Drone's Sapphire EP, dropping 1 July via Boofy and Lemzly Dale's Sector 7 Sounds label. You can find Snowy on Twitter and Instagram (@SNOW667).
