Beat Boss returns for its seventh instalment this Saturday

This Saturday (14 July), eight grime producers put all friendships, egos and loyalties aside to go head-to-head in the ultimate producer clash. That's right, Beat Boss 7 is here. Grime veteran and organiser Tiatsim is building on the success of previous competitions with a huge line-up, not only for the war but also for the party that will follow.

It will be exciting to see the levels that Jammz brings, as he returns to defend his Beat Boss crown after narrowly beating Fallow in the final of the previous one; however, he will face stiff competition in his first round clash from Lewi B, who has made a name for himself by producing killer beats such as Manga's "Different Pattern", with a style that is sure to fit perfectly into the war format where the element of surprise is key. Jakebob is also one to watch, having already impressed in qualifying by pipping Defiant to a spot in the final clash with a rude vocal special from Mez. He will go up against Filthy Gears, a producer known for his ridiculous output, and who will be sure to have several dubs ready to be slung at anyone in his path. Ex-producer for The Square, Lolingo, will face Audio Slugs, coming fresh from collaborations with P Money and Remtrex; and rounding off the bill is Crown Jules' Solemn facing MC/producer Empra, who have both been making waves in 2018.

We can't wait to see how the rounds play out, followed by sets from Spooky, P Jam b2b Tiatsim, and Scope b2b J Beatz, with a whole host of guest MCs expected to pass through. Warming up proceedings will also be young guns Lozzy C and Misundastood.

The event will take place from 9pm-4am at Five Miles, located a few minutes walk from Seven Sisters station, kitted out with a huge sound system that will be perfect for the night. The final free tickets can be found via Eventbrite here or, if you can't make it, all rounds and sets will be streamed live on Mode FM.
