Stana recruits D Double E for the intro to his new project

It's been a while since Leyton lyricist Stana last wrote to a grime beat, but the R&B-tinged Top Dolla instrumental used on his new project intro seems to have provided just the right soundscape he needed. He candidly reminisces over past flings during the first half of his verse, in a "Wifey Riddim" style, and then focuses his attention on wannabe gangsters.

East London legend D Double E then steps in for the second half of the song, bringing his signature wit to the verse ("Clued up, nah, I'm not a dummy / Bumblebee, man haffi collect the honey"). The accompanying video, directed by Kam Cordings, is minimal in its execution, and follows the two MCs and their groupies around a lavish household.

Details about the forthcoming project are scarce for now. It's likely to be rap-oriented for the most part, given Stana's back catalogue – although based on the video below, we'd love to hear him over more grime instrumentals. Find Stana on Instagram (@stana_gram) for more updates.
