Last Japan collaborates with Inner on new EP 'Cold Ascent'

Circadian Rhythms bossman Last Japan welcomes the world to his latest label, Ascend, with a cold three-track EP by himself and the elusive Finnish producer Inner. Having traditionally always operated in the darker, more experimental side of grime instrumentals, this latest EP sees him further develop his vision and influence on the genre.

The combination with Inner, who is also no stranger to this sound with previous releases on Plasma Abuse and Boxed, is not totally new, with an untitled Last Japan x Inner radio rip circling Soundcloud some 2 years ago and attracting the attention of many. That untitled track opens the EP, now named "East Blocks", before the title track "Cold Ascent" and "Projects" continue the theme of icy synth melodies and punching sub bass, resulting in standalone instrumentals that continue to change and progress as they play out.
