Bristolian production wizards Mordecai and Daffy have banded together to create a velvety musical experience: a nostalgically sampled EP
entitled Midnight Club. The two instrumental craftsmen have worked together previously, having released "Sometimes" back in January. Now, they have elevated into a higher
gear to deliver a full EP consisting of four distinctive tracks.
Reminiscent R&B aesthetics (heard particularly
on “South Beach”) are set against a consistent grimy BPM to
form this elegant, but at times choppy, rhythm and grime affair. Across the project, we're treated to slick vocals and guitar samples (“Till You Get
Home”); sharp percussion and snappy beats (“Stop Start”); and innovative, experimental percussive strikes and rhythmic pauses (“Cruise Control”).
Released via Daffy’s own label, Pear Drops (co-owned by BBC Bristol's Thadeous Matthews), check out the EP below and download it for free via the label's Bandcamp.
