Discarda reminds listeners of his long-standing grime credentials on 'Eski Kid'

East London's Discarda has long been teasing his forthcoming project, A Lyrical Pot of Marmite, which will serve as his first full-length offering since 2011's Lee McNaughts Presents... Discarda. The Limehouse MC has kicked off the new year with the exciting news that we're finally zeroing in on its release—set for March time—and has kicked off the album campaign by releasing its old school, Lewi B-produced lead single "Eski Kid".

The track sees the former Wile Out Onez and Mucky Wolfpack member reminisce on the genre-defining early days of grime, taunting his adversaries and reaffirming his status in the scene with bars like: "They don't make them like this anymore / You didn't do no sets with Crazy Titch in two-double-0-4!"

The accompanying greyscale visuals, directed by Saoud Khalaf, consist of crisp, minimalistic shots of Discarda, interspersed with clips from recent live shows and nostalgic radio sets alongside grime stars past and present including Stormin, Frisco, Big Narstie, and Stormzy.

"Eski Kid" is out now on retailers and streaming services. Watch the video below, and follow Discarda on Twitter for more updates.
