Mystry's 'Pulse R' and Garna's 'Diamonds R Forever' see an ultra-limited vinyl release

When setting up Slimzos' sister label 2002 Records in January 2018, grime legends Slimzee and Garna vowed that the imprint's mission would be "repressing grime classics, unearthing dubs from the early days and releasing old-style new beats". Continuing to live up to that ethos, tonight they've unleashed two elusive instrumentals on white 10" vinyl, limited to just thirty copies.

On the A-side is Mystry's "Pulse R", a long-awaited dubplate and the predecessor to the Jme-vocalled "Pulse 8". The Birmingham producer marries pounding, distorted 808s with rolling and filtered hi-hats to create a simple but effective instrumental, vocalled on radio by the likes of Frisco and Flirta D and showcased in the official 2014 music video below.

On the flip side is former East Connection DJ Garna's "Diamonds R Forever", which pairs a striking bassline with melodic synth swoops and an arrangement reminiscent of classic eskibeat. DJ Argue played the track in a 2018 mix for Complex UK. Stream previews of both tracks below.

"Pulse R"/"Diamonds R Forever" retails for £40 – head here to grab one of the only copies in existence. Find Mystry on FacebookTwitter and Instagram and Garna on Twitter and Instagram for more updates.
