Clipson delivers "Vibes & Grime" single - a lively instrumental under the Slew Dem MC's nostalgic bars ow his past with the legendary genre.
As we are inducted into this record, light synths bounce around the mix giving a feel of both slightly futuristic, but also slightly reminiscent of the past. Clipson's leading bars, set the stage for this track - "Do it for the love and I do it for the grime. Levels and the bars(?), man-a-man I got vibes. Jump in the booth and start my ting it's gonna be live. 140, I get deep on mic, 140, I get deep on grime."
Clipson steps into this record solely on a mission to prop up grime and his own history with the unique genre. He proceeds to spit about his past - '03 to '04; getting brought in at 16; first reload; flows that have lasted 15 years; LOTM; sets, TV before the net; MySpace days; Westwood and Logan; and of course, the Slew Dem Mafia.
The instrumental, laced by Toastinio and Cory SX, follows Clipson's skippy and lively persona. Full of intruding choir murmurs, bright and sparky synths, warm bass and snappy snares - an overall bouncy, upbeat and vibrant riddim.
