A new series on Instagram Live: Mental Health in Grime

We often hear Grime artists talk about material things, status and their friends but rarely do we hear them speak on their mental health. 'Mental Health in Grime' aims to normalise the conversation about mental health. Twitter is often the place for statements of feelings and emotions for music artists but the stigma of mental health is only broken down once conversations can be had face-to-face.

Each week I, El Formosa, will interview a different artist via Instagram live. In the first episode I interviewed SBK about moving to London and his battles with anxiety. We discussed his plans for his music and his experiences as a young MC in the scene. In episode two, I talk to Manga Saint Hilare about his deep revealing lyrics on his latest project 'Make It Out Alive'. We also speak about his mindset and how he relates to those around him dealing with ill mental health.

Follow me on Instagram to catch the next episode on Friday at 3.30pm. My guest will be Funk Butcher. For more information or to be involved in the project email me at elformosax@gmail.com
