Over the past decade Silencer aka Teddy has built up a reputation as a formidable and one of the leading producers within the Grime scene. Having a musical CV boasting the likes of D Double E, Ghetts and P Money on it, just to name a few who've grace his beats, Teddy is back with a second edition of his 'Teddingford' EP series. A ten track instrumental project using a wide range of melodies and instruments to offer a sound synonymous with the London based beat machine.
From the piano based roller 'Marzen' to the more solemn sounds of 'The Front Door', each track is as much a sonic piece of art as they are MC ready ammunition for any DJ set. With most tracks containing energetic, skippy tones, the use of percussion on 'Alien' creates a slower pace, only to be laced with vocal call and response as a way of filling space with great effect.
Teddy hasn't worked alone on this project though. He rounds off 'Teddingford 2' with a collaborative effort alongside AudioSlugs. There's no title to the track on Bandcamp, but it is in equal parts cold as it is lively. A very slick way to finish off the EP, with flashes of trappy snares and a chiming melody reminiscent of 'C5' by Hodge and Ishan Sound.
The 'Teddingford EP 2' is available to buy exclusively via Bandcamp which can be purchased and streamed below. It's the perfect addition to any instrumental arsenal.
